The Parish Congregation of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren in Zábřeh, ID No. (IČO): 44940068, with its registered office at U Vodárny 545/2, Zábřeh (hereinafter also referred to as the "Controller"), hereby declares that within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (hereinafter referred to as "GDPR"), it processes the personal data of data subjects for its activities, and is therefore a personal data controller (i.e., the entity that determines the means and purposes of the processing of personal data).

Processing of Personal Data

The Congregation processes personal data primarily in the following areas:

  • Agenda related to the administration and operation of the Congregation,

  • Agenda related to the administration of the sacrament of baptism,

  • Personnel/HR agenda,

  • Management of property and related contractual relations,

  • Organizing lectures, training, courses, and other events for the public,

  • Organizing charitable collections.

For the processing of personal data, the Controller relies on the legal bases of compliance with a legal obligation, performance of a contract, legitimate interest of the Controller or a third party, or consent to the processing of personal data granted by the data subject. When processing personal data, the Controller adheres to time limits established by law and time limits established after careful consideration in internal regulations so that the rights of data subjects are not violated.

In the context of processing personal data, it is necessary in some cases to transfer personal data to another person. The Congregation strives to minimize such transfers; however, in some cases, it is necessary for the fulfillment of the Congregation's obligations under the law, contracts, or within the framework of Church activities. In all cases where the Controller transfers personal data to another person, the Congregation ensures the maximum protection of the rights of data subjects.

The Synodal Council of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren has appointed a Data Protection Officer for the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren. Our Data Protection Officer is an expert with an overview of the Congregation's activities and the processing of personal data that occurs within it. He is prepared to respond to your messages, wishes, and complaints so that the highest possible satisfaction is achieved on your side.

Rights of the Data Subject

To ensure that data subjects can decide on the processing of their personal data to the widest extent possible, the GDPR establishes a number of rights that can be exercised against the Data Controller. If you decide to exercise any of your rights, please contact either the Controller or directly our Data Protection Officer, which will speed up the entire application process.

Your fundamental right is to request information as to whether the Controller processes your personal data. If we do process it, you have the right to request one copy of all documents containing personal data that we process about you. In the event that you find that the processed data is not accurate, you have the right to request rectification of the personal data. If you come to the opinion that we are not processing your personal data lawfully, you may exercise the right to erasure of personal data. If you are of the opinion that we have not handled your request as we should have, you have the right to contact the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů) with a complaint.
